There are usually two stages in the cold. The first is the cold stage and the second is the heat stage.

Coldness-status

Pattern (syndrome)

Wind-cold has entered.
The lungs that distribute the qi are affected.
This means that the defense qi cannot circulate normally.
The lung qi no longer descends.

Treatment

Lu7 is the first point for a cold because it opens the surface, distributes the defense qi, clears the fluid pathways, disperses wind, lowers the lung qi, frees it from external pathogenic factors

LI20 helps with all kinds of nasal problems, makes the nose consistent, expels wind from the nose, stops sneezing

G20 helps with cold, runny nose, stiff neck, headache, clears eyes, eliminates wind

GV23 diverts wind, makes nose consistent, ends nasal drain

B12 “Gate of the Winds”, drives out wind, stimulates the distribution function of the lungs, and especially helps with fever

B13 approval point lung, strengthens yin, cools heat, regulates waterways.

LI4 dispels wind, relieves pain, opens surface, helps with blocked, runny nose, main point for neck, shoulders, restricted movement, strengthens lung qi, strengthens defense

LI11 is used for all internal heat, cools heat, opens the surface, helps with the common cold, eliminates wind

LI20 helps with all kinds of nasal problems, makes the nose consistent, expels wind from the nose, stops sneezing
